The Institute of Chemical Process Engineering of the University of Alicante has developed a system that allows the individual supply of disinfected air simultaneously to multiple users in closed spaces of common use. This system is characterised by the fact that it can be easily installed in any place (classrooms, cinemas, theatres, means of transport, hospitals, offices, banks, etc.), it is very economical, it allows the safety distance to be reduced safely, and therefore, to complete the capacity at 100% with practically no risk of contagion by the inhalation of air contaminated with COVID-19 or other pathogens that are transmitted by air. We are looking for companies interested in acquiring this system for commercial exploitation through patent licence agreement.

The effective remote monitoring of rotating equipment such as HVAC systems or conveyor belts is valuable to ensure reduced downtime and peak operating efficiency. Researchers from Imperial College have developed CogniSense; an IoT device that can monitor machine state-of-health accurately, for any mechanism exhibiting cyclical motion. By transmitting a radio signal and detecting the response, a signal corresponding to the motion of the distinct machine components (e.g. gears and bearings) can be captured and analysed. CogniSense even works through walls, and a single device can be used to monitor multiple machines (rather than requiring individual on-board mounting like other existing systems).

Smart device focused on real-time water management. Applicable both drinking water and industrial and waste waters, monitored parameters include cations (Fe (III), Hg (II), Al (III), etc.), oxidants (Cl, nitrites, peroxide, etc.), biogenic amines, trinitrotoluene, pH, turbidity, conductivity, etc. This developed technology, composed by a series of sensors, small biochips, which experiment a change of colour when contacting the analyte of interest. This change is captured by a digital camera and is sent via Wifi to a database, where it is analysed and registered. It is also possible to issue a report and/or inform clients in real-time.
